The Neon Stars

The Neon Stars

The Neon Stars are Vancouver BC’s premier 4-piece Honky Tonk and Vintage Country outfit. From their start in 2012 they have been drawing couples onto the dance floor with their authentic sound and swinging selection of classic tunes from George Jones, Marty Robbins, Ray Price, Merle Haggard, Carl Perkins and other famous artists from the golden era of country music. The traditional sound, fine harmonies and deft musicianship has enabled the Neon Stars to hit the road running and has seen the band touring all around the Pacific Northwest. Aside from their favourite Vancouver venues they are regulars at the Little Red Hen in Seattle, The Edison Inn in Bow, WA, the Landmark Saloon in Portland, OR, and the Green Frog in Bellingham, WA. and appeared at the Nashville Boogie Festival in 2016.
Featuring Pat May on guitar and lead vocals, Ben LaBorie on electric guitar and vocals, Marc L’Esperance on drums and vocals and Santo Calderon on the acoustic bass, the Neon Stars immediately recreate the atmosphere of a mid-century roadhouse wherever they happen to play.

"Six Country Classics" , the well-received recording session they released in 2014, earned them numerous accolades and a nomination for the 2016 Ameripolitan Awards, held annually in Austin, Texas. They also have the distinction of being the only Canadian band so far to be booked for the Nashville Boogie Vintage Weekender in Nashville Tennessee.
